Delta’s signal converters are designed to assist with specific motion controller sensor connection scenarios.
RB12 SINGLE CHANNEL RS422 BUFFER
The RB12 contains a differential RS422 receiver input with selectable termination, and two differential RS422 line driver outputs. Each output is capable of driving one RS422 input with 100 ohm termination or two RS422 inputs with input termination of 200 ohms each. Use two RB12s to buffer the RS422 signals from a quadrature encoder (one RB12 for A and one for B) to allow a gearing encoder to be used with multiple motion controllers. Simply snap off the side panel of the RB12's DIN rail mount enclosure to access the termination jumper.
RPS10, RS-422 INTERFACE & PWM TO START/STOP CONVERTER
The RPS10 converts RS422 signals from magnetostrictive linear displacement transducers (MDTs) into single-ended TTL/CMOS compatible signals. The RPS/10 can also be configured to convert a pulse-width-modulated (PWM) signal into start and stop pulses for use with motion controllers such as the MC, VMC, MMC and TMC families and other products that accept only single-ended, start-stop signals.
AMP10, TTL/CMOS TO RS422 CONVERTER
The AMP10 converts RS422 differential signals from magnetostrictive linear displacement transducers (MDTs) into single-ended TTL/CMOS compatible signals.
QUAD/10, QUADRATURE TO MDT CONVERTER
The QUAD/10 module electronically converts quadrature encoder phase signals to equivalent magnetostrictive linear transducer signals. As with Delta's multi axis controllers, a large number of industrial controllers are designed to work with linear transducers. If the application calls for a few axes of rotary motion control alongside of some linear axes, the QUAD/10 can be used to reduce the number of different types of controllers in the system. In short, the QUAD/10 permits the controller designed for linear motion control to be used for rotary motion control. Specific applications of the QUAD/10 vary widely. This module can be used with any of Delta's motion control families, for example, Delta's MMC120, MMC, VMC or MC controllers.
